This custom cart doesn’t fold under pressure

When you specialize in next-generation printed packaging, there’s no room for wrinkles—in the product or the process. So when one of the world’s top packaging manufacturers came to us with a crease in their logistics plan, we ironed things out the Hamilton way.

Our goal: design a custom manual sling trailer to safely move delicate, high-precision rolls from point A to B without a single scratch. These ultra-sensitive Spreader and Tension Measuring Rolls are essential to high-precision printing—keeping materials tight and flawless for the packaging millions of consumers see on store shelves every day. One dent or scuff, and it’s game over.

Our solution: A sling-style cradle that treats each roll like royalty—cradling them securely during short hauls across a concrete floor to an area with crane access. Because these trailers needed to be pushed manually, we engineered them with a low center of gravity to prevent tipping while making sure they were nimble enough to navigate tight spots. The caster configuration? A Hamilton classic: rigid casters in the center for tracking straight and swivel casters on both ends for surgical steering.

It’s a reminder that sometimes the most delicate jobs still require some heavy-duty finesse.
