They say the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. While we won’t claim such influence, we do recognize the power of a good sling when it comes to cradling vital energy that drives our world.
Enter our latest innovation— a custom swivel caster steer cart, designed to transport 1,000-pound turbine rotor assemblies for a world leader in mid-range industrial gas turbines.
Three key challenges guided our design process:
- 1. Protecting the turbine blades from damage
- 2. Handling the rotor’s conical shape
- 3. Maintaining a specific load height
Our solution? The star feature of this cart is its dual slings, fashioned from durable nylon to shield delicate turbine blades. These flexible slings evenly distribute the load around the rotor. Their adjustability ensures a snug fit to the rotor’s conical diameter, consistently maintaining a fixed height of 36 inches.
